Free Comic Book Day 2014 |
Here is a full review of all 60 free comics from Bleeding Cool. I typically pick up a few comics each to pass along to my nieces and nephews on their birthdays.
Twilite Zone Comics
My first stop was Twilite Zone Comics in Glen Burnie, MD. The store was pretty busy, even at 10:30 AM, and had some excellent sales being offered. Inside this store is rather small so it was a bit tough to navigate my way around.
Twilite Zone did not have a limit on the number of comics you could take for free. This is nice but they were already a little low at 11AM and I saw some folks grabbing one of almost every comic.
I did pick up some nice graphic novels to read including The Gunslinger Born hardback.
The free comics I picked up were:
- The Tick - New England Comics
- Top shelf Kids Club
- Atomic Robo - Red 5 Comics
Alliance Comics
My second stop was Alliance Comics in Federal Hill. This is my local store so I spent more time here. the store is fairly spacious and never felt crowded.
I spent about 30 minutes browsing the $1 back issue boxes and selected a handful of Spider-Man and Hulk comics to read.
The free comics I picked up here were:
- Mouse Guard Flipbook - Archaia Entertainment
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - IDW
- Raising a Reader! - Comic Book Legal Defense Fund
